SOD Breaking News Summary – Melanie Learns the Truth!

Below is a summary of the interview with Molly Burnett. For the full articles, please go to Forbidden Love Ejami Fan Forum

It’s quite a dramatic week for Melanie, says Burnett. She’s not kidding. It all begins when Melanie overhears Nathan and Stephanie discussing Chloe’s one night stand, unaware that it was with Mel’s hubby, Philip. All hell breaks loose and she doesn’t even know who it’s with yet, says Burnett. Mel freaks out. She loves Daniel so much and she finds out that his fiancee is cheating on him? She doesn’t even know how to react. She’s furious.

Meanwhile, Daniel and Chloe finalize their wedding plans and an anguished Mel calls her father, planning to drop the bomb. She is not conflicted, says Burnett. Mel is like “I’m going to tell him” and then enough people talk her down that then she’s really conflicted. People say “If you tell him, then every time he looks at you, he’s going to look at the person who told him his fiancee was cheating on him.” Her brain gets messed with a little bit.

Mel does confront Nathan, though, about keeping the secret. She’s furious that he didn’t say anything, says Burnett.

Mel, of course, takes it as a personal attack, even though it’s not. She says “If you really cared about me, you would have said something.” Mel is freaking out. Nathan asks her what she’s going to do and she reveals that she plans to stop the nuptials from taking place.

To that end, she confronts her future stepmom. There’s slapping involved. Burnett talks about how she really enjoyed working with Nadia Bjorlin. She thinks they pulled off some good stuff. It’s going to be pretty cool. At first, Chloe tries to deny it and Melanie is like, stop, stop. I know you did it. and she’s like, yeah but it was one time and it didn’t mean anything.

Mel warns that she’s going to come clean with Daniel, but Chloe implores her not to, saying it will only hurt the baby. Mel wonders if the baby is even Daniel’s, so Chloe tells her about the paternity test. When Mel doubts its veracity, Chloe is forced to make another confession: Carly knows, too. Burnett says that’s the worst part. There’s enough going on and then she finds out her mom knew the whole time! Burnett says “Oh my gosh – Goodbye Carly!”

SOD Breaking News Summary – EJ Plots His Next Move

Below is a summary of the interview with James Scott. For the full articles, please go to Forbidden Love Ejami Fan Forum

The week begins with EJ telling Roman that he doesn’t remember anything that happened after the wedding. Scott says that EJ doesn’t want to throw Sami under the bus. He also doesn’t see any sense in dealing with the police. What have the police done for EJ? There’s no point in telling Roman. The Brady family is as thick as thieves.

But EJ does believe that Sami played a part in his shooting. Initially, he’s reluctant to acknowledge it, but ultimately he realizes that it’s very likely.

Sami visits EJ and he tries to get her to admit to the crime. Scott says that EJ still loves her. He has some empathy for what she did. Scott says that he almost thinks EJ thinks that being shot is a good thing. He had nothing. She was taking the kids and he was so clearly in the wrong. Now she is in the wrong. The consequences are huge. He has a huge amount of power here. All he has to do is prove that she shot him and she’ll go to prison for the rest of her life and he’ll have his kids.

Call us crazy (wouldn’t be the first time) but at least EJ, even after suspecting Sami shot him, loves her. He is always scheming, and so is she. EJami playing cat and mouse can lead to good scenes and there is nothing that they can’t overcome. We still firmly believe that.

Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me EJami

Well we recently teased a video which we gave a HUGE hint as to the special treat we have today.

As backstory – there was some (ok, a lot of) begging, pleading, nagging and possible offering of firstborns to get this, but in our humble opinions it was SO worth it.

At the beginning of this month, there was a lot of doom, gloom and all around sadness at the thought of not seeing EJami kissing again, and yet – here we are, about to give you a little taste of the day ahead, like manna from heaven. Enjoy!

Because we had to sacrifice to get this, we hope and pray that everyone who enjoys this little bit will go out and show some EJami love – on the boards, in emails, letters, postcards, you know the drill – to show their appreciation in turn.

Secondly, if you’re an EJami fan and you haven’t joined yet, you should go to Forbidden Love (member login required) and see the day ahead. It is your duty as an EJami. Yes, there’s a post requirement, but seriously? Gushing about EJami should get you there in no time. ;)

This Day in EJami – September 27, 2007 – “It’s you and me, EJ”

EJ and Sami were just coming out of the warehouse where Sami shot Lucas (history shows we really need to keep her away from firearms) and she tells EJ about the folio that kept the secret to ending the vendetta.

EJ: Wedding bands.
Sami: They’re the ones that Santo had made for him and Colleen.
EJ: What’s all this? This is a, what? It’s a marriage license.
Sami: That’s right. Made out for the two of them over 50 years ago.
EJ: I don’t understand.
Sami: Read it. You’ll understand everything.

* * * * *

EJ: “Then peace will finally be granted for the Brady family.”
Sami: Santo instructed his son, Stefano, to seek vengeance on the Brady family and keep at it until all the wrongs of the past were made right.
EJ: Okay, I understand that. But how are Santo and Colleen’s souls supposed to be joined together after 50 years?
Sami: I look just like my Great-Aunt Colleen, and you look just like your grandfather.
EJ: So, what are you saying?
Sami: It’s you and me, EJ.
EJ: Samantha, how could my grandfather have possibly predicted the two of us?
Sami: He didn’t. But obviously Stefano sees this as the end. In his twisted mind, if you and I get married, his father’s soul will be at peace.

So, Sami had decided to agree, although she did deny it to Lucas (lying as always), so that she could save her father from Andre’s clutches. Even then, Sami was a girl of absolutes, saying how she didn’t want him, when we all know every well that EJami’s feelings for each other have never been so simple.

Elsewhere, the end of the Santeen story was ratcheting up, and the accompanying sadness that EJamis felt at seeing Santo and Colleen, much like their modern day counterparts, EJ and Sami, getting sooo close, only to have it fall apart. We finally learned a huge truth – that Santo was not a widower, and his wife was alive and well in Italy.

Santo and Colleen, and EJ and Sami, have had their love stories defined by lies and their power to destroy their relationship, over and over. Our hope is that eventually, the writers will allow them to get it right, to stop the lies between them at least. They can scheme and plot, just not against each other.

It’s a simple concept but one that seems to escape this writing….at least for now.

So get out there and show some EJami love – call, email, write letters, postcards, send pictures or tweet. Just let them know what we want – and that’s some romantic EJami. :)

All’s Fair in Love and War and EJami – Top 5 Fights

Welcome to Painfest 2010 everyone!

It’s been rough here in the HQ and we won’t lie – the last thing we wanted to go through is yet another turn on the misery merry-go-round with our favorite couple. But, as we do not write the show, and the ones that do have issues with giving us EJamis any type of payoff, we have to find a way to make lemonade out of all this.

If we put the pain aside, just for a moment, we can appreciate the amazing acting partnership of Alison Sweeney and James Scott. They can go into these scenes and make you feel as if you are intruding in very private conversations – and that is a tribute to their unique talent. A talent and chemistry that could give us some amazing emotional, ROMANTIC scenes. Yes, Powers that Be that’s directed at you – are you listening?

Anyway, in reviewing these clips, we did notice one recurring theme with EJami – every time they said never, what it really meant was in a few months if not sooner. By this we mean, that EJami has dealt in alot of absolutes, none of which mean a hill of beans in the end. EJ can’t stay away from Sami and Sami can’t stay away from EJ. And we can’t stay away from them – good or bad.

#5 Body & Soul

The day was late February, 2007.  Sami had stormed over to EJ’s apartment, the man that she professed to be scared of.  There, they had an enlightening argument about many things, including that fateful December night. EJ was determined not to let some “dime a dozen loser” like Lucas Roberts raise his child. Sami continued on her eternal quest for the “perfect” man and family life, and she has yet to accept that it doesn’t exist.  The more things change, the more things stay the same.

#4 This Close

EJ and Sami had been lying to each other for weeks – Sami was still with Lucas, and EJ was hiding that he was no longer paralyzed. Things came to a head when EJ attempted to blackmail Sami into living with him and sharing his bed in exchange for not telling the police that Lucas was the one who shot him. The way that Sami leaned right in and told EJ that she would never sleep with him again (or at least not for 6 months) was hot. Even in their anger and heated exchanges, you can always feel the sexual tension between them.  Dumping him out of his wheelchair to prove that he was faking was a nice little touch at the end.

#3 Love Has Everything To Do With This

Well, this one still hurts. It is so fresh, the tears on our heartstrings have barely mended.  This fight was destined from the moment we found out that EJ was the mastermind behind the sydnapping.  In soaps, there is one steadfast rule, big lies like this always come out, and a price is to be paid for that lie. Always.  Unfortunately, this situation was no different.  We loved the summer of EJami, even as we waited for the axe to fall, even knowing certain insensitive comments by an executive producer. Knowing this was coming didn’t stop it from digging a small hole in our heart. We’re still healing.

#2 He Can’t Unravel Our DNA

Now, this is an example of a compelling, well written Ejami episode, with some really sharp dialogue and great delivery by James and Ali.  Sami was praying, in church, to God that she would do anything (Sami is a girl of absolutes, no doubt) if no one ever found out about the deal she made with EJ.  EJ overheard, and proceeded to tell her that God may make trees, but he can’t unravel DNA. The way Sami flew at him, after saying never, once again, proved how unafraid she was of him. The tension was crackling and we were all on the edge of our seats.

#1 Grief & Anger

Well, we’ve reached the top of our list and there was no question that this fight was going to make it to the top. It was so raw, so full of rage and pain mixed together, that it was the hardest, the most uncomfortable and yet the best fight EJami have ever had.  It began with a hidden pregnancy, and culminated in Baby Grace contracting meningitis and dying.  Sami, looking for someone to hold her accountable for this, told EJ that the little girl he had never even seen was, in fact, his daughter. It was possibly the most painful lie ever for EJami and it certainly created many a debate between fans.  The power of these scenes though is the acting and subject matter. Losing a child is the most horrific thing a parent can ever go through, and the circumstances for this loss were maximized for intense emotional anguish.   We here at Rogue EJami believe that the writers trusted this incredibly hard storyline to two actors who could more than hold their own and do the material justice.  It is truly no surprise that James Scott submitted these scenes, and received an Emmy nomination on the strength of them.  They were that good.

Honorable Mention: Feelings for EJ

We had to add a touch of humor to these proceedings, so we include this cute fight between EJ and Sami, and the food fight that erupted between Sami and Nicole and Chloe.  Everyone could see Sami’s feelings for EJ, and yet she couldn’t admit them to herself.  EJ calling her on her BS was cute and seeing him covered in pie wasn’t so bad either. ;)

Here’s our video tribute to these scenes – get a hanky, pull on your big girl panties and watch:

Well, we weren’t kidding when we said that the list was a painfest and we are still in the midst of it as EJami fans.  But we are made of strong stuff.  We have survived all of these fights and come out the other side.  Many people, on many different occasions, have called this fight or that, the “end” of EJami.  The truth is, it is never the end.  Because those two always come so close, and bad things may happen, but the love and the passion and the chemistry cannot be denied.  If it were a lesser couple, the fire and the intensity our fanbase has exhibited would have fanned out long ago.  Forbidden Love members have a theme song called “Tubthumping” and it is so appropriate – yes, we have gotten knocked down, but we get up again, and they will NEVER keep us down.

So, if you want to see romantic, in love EJami – you know who you have to tell? The Powers That Be.  Tell them loud and tell them proud they will NEVER keep us down – we will ALWAYS want EJami. Go get ‘em!
