This Day in EJami – Even if it means I have to let you go

We had it so good a year ago today. These touching scenes happen soon after EJ tells Sami that he loves her and it’s the first time they’ve been able to really talk to each other since then. EJ is stressed about all the outside forces and his bad mistake ruining what he’s building with Sami. He’s brooding. Sami teases him about being a crime boss, which he is but she certainly doesn’t seem to mind in that moment.

There are so many good things about this episode. First, we see a softer Sami. Is it just us or does she act completely different around him when they are having happy times?  Her happy times with EJ are so much better than her happy times with Rafe. It’s more genuine. And it’s very cute that she’s a bit shy about asking him along to her picnic.

One bit of classic Sami is that she has insecurities and feels stupid sometimes. EJ always handles that very well. He’s right there to praise her and make her feel better about herself.  He puts her on a pedestal and sees her in a way that no one else does, including herself.  When she talks about needing to establish herself and her life, he won’t stop her and he encourages her to do what makes her happy, even if that means he has to let her go. (Are those real tears forming in his eyes?)  It was a genuine moment between them that gave us all hope that somehow, someway these two can work through the obstacles that always pop up, because when they’re happy and together, it’s magic.

And then there is the flirting. Goodness, the flirting. It’s off the charts really. She invites him to the picnic and he’s so excited. Before they leave, they have this moment while sitting on the coffee table where they are ultimately connecting. It’s romance that we didn’t think was possible for this show.

So relive the memories of this short and sweet EJami episode.
